Activating young adults for ministry

Today, OneWay celebrates 16 young men and women from across the country who are joining us to embark on a summer of gospel-advancing ministry. This is the biggest group of interns to join our team since 2016.

By the end of the summer, they will have filled huge ministry needs. Their work will include creating video documentaries, worship music, communications resources, scripture songs and Prayercast video translations. Interns also will help our team prepare OneWay’s new US headquarters, Lakeside Center, for ministry.

They are part of a new era as OneWay settles into its ministry center after two years of remote work.

“I’m excited for the life and energy that [the interns] will bring to each other and also to the organization,” explains Hannah Thompson, Young Adult Director. “God provided the space, and He has brought the people to fill it. We all know He’s given us a big mission, and now He’s bringing in the team.”

God has blessed OneWay with three rental houses where interns will live this summer.

One of the houses, affectionately termed, “The Blue House,” has been home to staff members, interns and residents during the last year. You can read how God moved mountains to provide that house.

In a similar way this May, God pieced together many moving parts for OneWay to rent and furnish homes for this summer’s interns, thanks to generous donations from OneWay supporters.

As we look to the future, we have a goal of raising $30,000 to help expand our housing and staffing and supplement program costs so we can activate even more young adults into life-changing ministry experience.

This summer’s interns are joining us from nine different states, including Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, North Carolina, New Mexico, Virginia, Arkansas and Ohio. Three of these students grew up overseas. They are from Rwanda, Turkey and Taiwan.

As they live together and engage in intentional community, mentorship and training, interns will gain practical ministry experience while growing in their relationship with Jesus.

“By the end of the summer, I hope that they are simply in love with the person of Jesus in a personal, real-life transformative way,” Thompson says.

Would you consider helping us activate even more young adults through a dynamic ministry experience? A generous partner will match up to $15,000 by July 15.
