Dead man walking

What would you do in this situation?

In a closed, formerly Soviet country, Paul* knows today might be his last. So he shares the gospel with as many people as he can, even as men from an extremist religious group search for him.

But Paul’s main gospel outreach isn’t what you might expect: it’s through YouTube videos.

For the past two years, he has been publishing videos against the country’s false religion with the assistance of OneWay’s Digital Evangelism leader, Sparrow*. His videos have thousands of views and moved some people to leave the false religion.

Knowing it was inevitable that someone would find out who he was, Paul asked his wife and children if they were okay with the project before he began to post the videos.

Sparrow shares, “When the [extremists] figured out who he was, [Paul] said, ‘I'm not going to go into hiding. I'm going to put my face on the channel.”

Paul knew he was a dead man walking and decided to share the gospel with as many people as possible before anything happened to him.

In response to his video, Paul has received death threats, but he continues sharing the gospel through YouTube. Sparrow has helped him post three more videos, which contain portions of this man’s personal testimony as well.

The Digital Evangelism team at OneWay supports Paul and many other courageous Christians, helping them share the gospel through technology in spite of the dangers and fears.

Pray for safety and courage for Paul and believers like him as they share Christ, knowing they could be killed at any time. Pray for the people who find Paul’s videos and OneWay’s Digital Evangelism online projects to have open hearts and be led to Jesus.
