Meet the Team: Chris Ruge

Get to know the OneWay team! We'd like to introduce you to one of the people working behind the scenes at OneWay to help Reach People.

Chris Ruge didn’t expect to spend his life activating world-changing prayer for the sake of the lost. What started out as a couple of years of volunteering in our founder’s basement has turned into more than 16 years of serving the Kingdom of God. He now serves as OneWay’s Director of Prayercast and Mission Network News (MMN).

After serving in his local church’s music ministry under Michael Thompson (OneWay’s founder and president), Michael invited Chris to volunteer with a young OneWay. As Chris became more involved, he sensed the Lord calling him to a monumental task: backpack across Europe to record prayers for a brand new ministry called Prayercast. That trip changed Chris’s life forever.

“During that truly miraculous backpacking across Europe,” Chris said, “God broke me and said in a very real way, ‘Now I want you to come back and do this full time.’"

Today, Chris leads hundreds of thousands of people in prayer for the lost every day. His favorite part of his job is being faithful in what God gives him to do, then watching as God does amazing things.

“I'm so thankful that God has given me an opportunity through OneWay to use my life to make a difference for eternity,” Chris said.

Chris and his wife, Emily, met in the University of Wisconsin Marching Band. They have one daughter, Faith. When Chris isn’t rallying the Church to reach the lost, you can find him running or cooking a delicious meal.
