Get to know the OneWay team! This week we'd like to introduce you to one of the people working behind the scenes at OneWay to help Reach People.
When Ruth Kramer isn’t interviewing a source, researching a topic or producing a broadcast for Mission Network News, she is still on the go — on the track! She is a nationally-ranked sprinter in USATF’s (USA Track & Field) Masters division as well as an assistant coach for a local high school’s track & field and cross country varsity teams.
Ruth has been a steady voice with MNN for more than two decades of the Christian news organization’s 30-year history. “Find your place in the story,” is the encouragement Ruth gives her listeners with each broadcast. That starts by being aware of what is happening in the world around us, then asking God how He wants us to respond, she says.
Her work managing daily news stories is demanding but rewarding. “The bricks we make at the end of the day are kingdom-building,” Ruth says. “Every story has a purpose.”
Ruth is married with three adult children. And that other pursuit? Ruth holds state records in Illinois and Indiana for both the 100m and 200m (ranking 11th and 9th in the US, respectively) as well as the 200m record in Michigan for Women, ages 50 to 54.
